\u201cA shop owner placed a sign above his door that said: \u2018Puppies For Sale.\u2019<\/p>\n
Signs like this always have a way of attracting young children, and to no surprise, a boy saw the sign and approached the owner; \u2018How much are you going to sell the puppies for?\u2019 he asked.<\/p>\n
The store owner replied, \u2018Anywhere from \u20b93000 to \u20b95000.\u2019<\/p>\n
The little boy pulled out some change from his pocket. \u2018I have \u20b92300,\u2019 he said. \u2018Can I please look at them?\u2019<\/p>\n
The shop owner smiled and whistled. Out of the kennel came Lady, who ran down the aisle of his shop followed by five teeny, tiny balls of fur.<\/p>\n
One puppy was lagging considerably behind. Immediately the little boy singled out the lagging, limping puppy and said, \u2018What\u2019s wrong with that little dog?\u2019<\/p>\n
The shop owner explained that the veterinarian had examined the little puppy and had discovered it didn\u2019t have a hip socket. It would always limp. It would always be lame.<\/p>\n
The little boy became excited. \u2018That is the puppy that I want to buy.\u2019<\/p>\n
The shop owner said, \u2018No, you don\u2019t want to buy that little dog. If you really want him, I\u2019ll just give him to you.\u2019<\/p>\n
The little boy got quite upset. He looked straight into the store owner\u2019s eyes, pointing his finger, and said;<\/p>\n
\u2018I don\u2019t want you to give him to me. That little dog is worth every bit as much as all the other dogs and I\u2019ll pay full price. In fact, I\u2019ll give you \u20b92300 now, and \u20b9700 a month until I have him paid for.\u2019<\/p>\n
The shop owner countered, \u2018You really don\u2019t want to buy this little dog. He is never going to be able to run and jump and play with you like the other puppies.\u2019<\/p>\n
To his surprise, the little boy reached down and rolled up his pant leg to reveal a badly twisted, crippled left leg supported by a big metal brace.
